The city of Sandy Springs is located in Fulton County, Georgia directly on the north side of Atlanta and the Buckhead area. For those familiar with Metro Atlanta, Sandy Springs is located both "inside the perimeter" (ITP) and "outside the perimeter" (OTP). Sandy Springs was incorporated in 2005 and was the catalyst for the rest of the unincorporated areas of north Fulton County ultimately becoming the new cities of Johns Creek and Milton a year later.
