Peachtree Park has a wonderful variety of homes to choose from with many homes on relatively large lots. You can find smaller 2 bedroom bungalow and cottage-style homes on the Peachtree Road side of the neighborhood as well as new construction homes, craftsman elegant townhomes, and a small community of newer construction brick homes built in 2003-2005 called Darlington Commons built by Brock builders.
A cool feature that is unique to Peachtree Park is a pedestrian bridge, Bynum Bridge, that crosses over Georgia 400 from Peachtree Park to Lenox Mall right at the end of East Paces Ferry and Peachtree Drive. There is also n additional pedestrian walkway to reach the Buckhead MARTA station that parallels GA 400 on one side of the neighborhood to make it a shorter walk if you commute to work on MARTA or want to use it to get to a Football game or any other reason you may need to get to Midtown or Downtown Atlanta.
Peachtree Park is on the National Register of Historic Places and has a very active, voluntary homeowners association that helps with social events like the 4th of July parade, dinner parties, a neighborhood watch, and various other events throughout the year. There is a small gated park near the Piedmont Rd side of the neighborhood on East Paces Ferry and a walking trail behond Darlington Commons. You can get more information about everything about the neighborhood on the Peachtree Park website.
What We Love About Peachtree Park
The tree-lined streets, access to Lenox Mall, the children's park, walking trail, and variety of architectural styles give Peachtree Park a unique character even within Buckhead. There is also a very wide range of home prices that afford for more buying opportunities than many other comparable Buckhead neighborhoods. Many of the homes have large lots compared to a somewhat comparable neighborhood like Peachtree Hills - especially the homes located on East Paces Ferry and Peachtree Dr and there is typically more off-street parking.
What We Don't Love About Peachtree Park
The neighborhood backs up to Georgia 400, a MARTA train line, and the actual train. Many of the houses have all 3 behind them and that can be problematic for selling. Another issue is that with so many roads in and out of the neighborhood, there tends to be a little extra car traffic than you might like from time to time. Additionally, the pedestrian bridge and walkway to MARTA, useful and convenient for homeowners, brings more non-resident pedestrians through the neighborhood than you may want to see.
Home Prices In Peachtree Park
Peachtree Park home prices start below $500,000 for some entry-level, smaller homes and extend well above a million dollars for new construction homes. There are plenty of opportunities left for the savvy buyer to pick up an old home and do renovations for some instant equity and other opportunities, if you can find a good lot, to build your custom dream home!
