Snow on Big Creek in Alpharetta
Posted by Ryan Ward: CEO of Premier Atlanta Real Estate - Keller Williams on Monday, January 10th, 2011 at 10:14pm.A rare snow day here in Metro Atlanta allowed me some free time to hike down Big Creek in an area off of Haynes Bridge near Mansell and take a few pictures. I missed about 15 deer run by because I had a wide angle lens on the camera and when I tried to change lenses they heard me and ran. Anyway, below is what it looks like to have record snow in Alpharetta. Enjoy!
This one is the little creek behind our house
There is a lot that was never built on that gives great walking access to Big Creek
When you walk down towards the creek, you quickly feel very far from the hustle and bustle
It seems to go on for miles. It does actually. The Big Greek Greenway runs for miles between Alpharetta and Roswell
Big Creek I
Big Creek II

It really snowed pretty good!
Some Birds From our Deck
Here are a few on our deck - I don't really have a dedicated lens for wildlife. Hey, I sell real estate. What can I say?

So that's it. Besides sledding and checking on a couple of contracts, we were completely snowed in. There is no getting down our street or out of the neighborhood when there is snow and ice on them...

Great photos Ryan. I would imagine the whole city shut down yesterday. I live in Indy (5" today) now but I remember when living there that even the mention of snow in ATL would cause a mad rush to Publix and everyone to take cover. 400 must have been a disaster.

Todd, I would have loved it as a kid too - If it was in a warmer climate...Mark, it is still shut down. I may be stuck at home again tomorrow. My streets are iced and we live at the top of the hill on our street. It's down one hill, level and then down another hill with a turn in it. It's that second turn that presents the big problem as it doesn't seem to be in the line of sunlight...and then getting up two more hills.

Hey Ryan, awesome pics!! I was out there during the snow and barely made it by going Webb Bridge Rd. My familly lives in Windward and I shouldn't of made the trek! I've never seen Big Creek frozen like that.....and I have lived here for about 20 years.

Those are great photos! I am just lucky enough that every winter is that beautiful here in Northern Minnesota. The pictures really remind me of Duluth!
